Spring Fling

Spring Fling 29 – 31 May 2010-06-09

“Spring Fling” is one of Scotland ’s premiere art and craft open studio events, and this year 83 participants, right across Dumfries and Galloway , took part.

Kirkpatrick Durham is fortunate in having a wealth of talent and this year there were 5 open studios within the village.

Spring Fling Cafe

For the third year running, Church members joined together with those from our village hall, and community park to run a café in the village hall. This is not only a significant fundraiser, but is a greatly appreciated facility for visitors to the village, with excellent feedback from our customers. This year the café was enhanced with the work of three local photographers.

Last year visitors had requested copies of our soup recipes, so under the editorship of John McCormick,

 a “Soup Bible” was published, and proved very popular.

A profit of £1344 was raised, divided equally between the 3 organisations.

A big thank you to all who helped in the café or provide soup and baking.
